The Fucking Pointlessness of it All

As far as he could say, there was no fucking point in doing anything at all.

Hoping for self-righteous fucks to chide him with claims of the ‘divinity’, ‘sacredness’ and ‘purity’ of life, he thought his life so far had definitely been worth living for, seeing as he had been lucky in experiencing pleasure that wasn’t available to many. For instance, the joys of the flesh. The joys of appreciating each and every morsel of food. The joys of beverage. The joys of exotic food. The joys of enhancing his senses through natural ways like physical activity, meditation and cannabis. The joy of writing. The joy of reading for long periods of time. And most importantly, being lucky to not go through traumatic incidents that seemed to plague so many of his generation.

The fucking pointlessness of it all.

Even though he appreciated his existence, there were some moments when he wished he could be a parasite, content to sit back and consume everything of pleasurable value while creating nothing original or of value in return. As if he could live off the minds of the creators and intellectuals who were shaping lives of all the people whom they touched, through the strength of their backs and their brains. He felt he were on a roller-coaster, because while he was absolutely pumped up on some days, keen to take control of his life by understanding the world around him, there were also days when he felt life was nothing but a sheer accident and of no consequence whatsoever, his thoughts again shaped by the possibilities of virtual worlds and simulations, as evident in Black Mirror on Netflix and Upgrade on Amazon Prime.

He wondered how his engineered virtual world would look like, and stopped thinking about it quickly because he felt such depravity and debauchery, as evident from the images coursing through his mind’s eye, would be enough be earn the wrath of all the moral police forces throughout the entirety of the globe. For what could possibly be more frightening to self-righteous fucks who dictated what people should wear, eat, do and think, when there would exist a world where people did what they pleased, as long as the algorithm dictating that world would allow it, that is. He wondered how the algorithm could account for senses like taste, since visual rendering was very much possible with today’s technology.

He kept seeing images on his social media feed that everyone would die one day, and how everyone should love what they do, and not be afraid of the consequences. He also saw how capitalism was being derided and slandered in favour of socialism and fascism, a thought that irked and angered him to no extent, for what kind of people could morally claim the the strength of socialism and fascism as socio-economic systems for a nation, against the merits of capitalism? He felt that capitalism was the only moral, righteous system that worked and had brought the greatest amount of good to the greatest number of people. He would defend capitalism for all his worth.

The fucking pointlessness of it all.
