Disclaimer: This post does not promote the use of cannabis for recreational purposes (in smokable or eatable or drinkable or vaping form) in any way. The aim of this post is to educate and empower people about the cannabis economy’s three aspects – recreational, medicinal and industrial. Using cannabis’ flowers or buds directly for recreational purposes and cultivating the cannabis plant by any individual is illegal in India as per the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropics Act, 1985. I encourage everyone to read the Act once in full for the sake of intellectual curiosity and also to understand the type of language being used in legal affairs. Trust me, it will help a lot for your career and future. It will make you think in different ways. I believe every cannabis user in India should be able to think for themselves and have an original, informed, in-depth opinion about everything going on in our modern world, rather than absorb the shallow views and opinions of mainstream media that seeks to make our attention spans short.
Many web surfers come to this website hoping to get some tips on how to buy cannabis for recreational purposes. I must take a moment here and make sure you understand what is permitted in the NDPS Act and what is not. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropics Act says that using the flower and resin of the cannabis plant for recreational uses is not permitted. The Act allows using the same for medicinal and research purposes. That’s how Indian companies are in the market to serve patients for medicinal cannabis – for both acute and chronic illnesses. There’s science behind medicinal cannabis. Let’s not forget that, because, for whatever said and done, our responsibility should be to ensure that the claim of ‘pesudo-science’ must henceforth never arise in the context of medicinal cannabis ever again.

Secondly, while it is appreciated that many people already realize the relative safety of cannabis with respect to alcohol, tobacco and other substances of a narcotic nature like methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin, it is prudent to help people understand why cannabis is relatively safer in the first place. Without seeking to complicate matters by delving into a discussion of a technical nature involving biology, evolutionary history and botany, the fundamental principle behind the symbiotic relationship between cannabis and human beings, pertains to biochemical compounds called cannabinoids, produced by the human body to regulate bodily functions and systems from a well-being point of view, while also being produced by the cannabis plant. For more details, interested readers can read this.
To summarize, ask yourself this: what’re the odds that biochemically similar compounds are present in both the human body and the cannabis plant? This property lends cannabis both medicinal and recreational value. We will not touch upon all the other practical applications and technical details of both the human body’s biological link to the cannabis plant in this post. Interested readers can do so here. Without further ado, let’s come back to the main objective of this post, which is to delve into details of cannabis based products sold in India for medicinal purposes, which are infused with two of the most well studied cannabinoids of cannabis (there are over 100 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant – CBD and THC are two), and hence the two most well known cannabinoids: CBD and THC.

- Cannaflam, Cannapain and Cannaron capsules and oils
Trademarked and patented by Vedi Herbals (a brand of Odisha-based HempCann Solutions), Cannaflam, Cannapain and Cannaron capsules and oils are currently being prescribed by many doctors based in India for patients going through pain, digestive, skin, inflammation and cardiovascular issues, in addition to strengthening immunity. While Cannaflam and Cannapain are their most well-known medicines, Vedi Herbals manufactures a total of 7 medical cannabis products. They make full spectrum (medicines containing all cannabinoids, terpenes, achenes and other compounds including both THC and CBD in varying quantities oils and capsules.

The company also caused quite a stir in early February, 2020 after it inaugurated its wellness store in Bengaluru as India’s first medical cannabis store under the Vedi Wellness name.
- Cannabryl Raw Tincture
cbdstore.in hosts a decent range of Cannabryl products to choose from. While most of the products do not contain customer reviews, our eyes fell on this one specifically because it looked ideal for normally healthy people, yet coping with issues like sleep and stress in their daily lives. Cannabryl is marketed by Indogenix Biosciences and a team of doctors prescribe Cannabryl for patients suffering from multiple acute and chronic illnesses, a model similar to Vedi Herbals. In addition to that we also found the company’s test report front page floating out on cbdstore.in

- India Hemp Organics made CannaBliss
Since its pain relief; there ought to be decent THC in this one. Its composition is shown in the below picture; it containing 5% (1.5 ml) Vijaya* (Leaf) Extract and 95% MCT Oil

- CannaReleaf Oil
Trademarked by Mumbai-based Bombay Hemp Company, it is ” intended to assist and improve the quality of your life. A restful mind, good sleep, and a balanced lifestyle contribute to an overall state of health and wellbeing. The full spectrum of cannabinoids in cannabis leaf combined with a suite of ayurvedic herbs provides you with a natural treatment for symptomatic relief.”, as per the company’s website. Indian companies do not disclose the amount of CBD and THC in their medicines because as per Ayurvedic principles, a full spectrum oil consisting of 100+ cannabinoids (the exact formula of the cannabinoids is a company secret) taken from the natural plant is what’s needed. However, make no mistake, let’s see what the new regulations to be released by 2021 end says.

- HempStrol Full Spectrum CBD Oil
Their products are made in the USA as per their picture on the website shown below.

What’s personally great is this below. The results, we’re not so sure about someone should probably speak to a doctor in case there exist existing health issues. For the others, go for it.

They’ve also said that “You can’t get high from Hemp Extract, even when taking a full spectrum Hemp Extract product like ours. Our products have less than 0.3% THC within them. This is not enough THC to get you “high.” For comparison, the average marijuana joint has anywhere from 8% to 30+% THC in it. You won’t experience the psychoactive effects by taking Hempstrol’s Hemp Extract like you would be partaking in other marijuana-based products.”. It makes sense because the 0.3% THC is the legal definition extent of THC to be a part of hemp. The company understandably, may not want to be associated with anything to do with psychoactive THC.
I specifically like CBD Isolate Crystals because they do not contain any THC so I have peace of mind in the case that I have to take a drug test for Work because I am a heavy equipment operator.
